Mushroom Vision

Since July 2024, Heliovision and Mushroom Office have joined forces to drive innovation in the mushroom cultivation market. Globally, both white and brown mushrooms are grown in specialized cultivation rooms. Mushroom cultivation is a highly delicate and precise process, meticulously monitored by experienced growers. This is because once a mushroom opens and releases its spores, its market value significantly decreases compared to a closed mushroom. Therefore, timing the harvest correctly is crucial.

Through the use of Heliovision’s camera vision software, combined with Mushroom Office’s extensive market and product knowledge, the “Mushroom Vision” project—part of the CrossRoads initiative—aims to monitor and map the quality of mushroom growth more accurately.

This project is supported by CrossRoads, Interreg Flanders-Netherlands.

VLAIO Team Bedrijfstrajecten, Economische Impuls Zeeland, REWIN, the Brabantse Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij, LIOF, and InnovationQuarter. The goal of CrossRoads, Interreg Flanders-Netherlands is to enhance the potential of the border region by facilitating partnerships between SMEs and subsidizing their joint innovations.
